PRIMITIVE OLDE WORLD SANTA & REINDEER

Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my new Christmas Offerings. Here we have an Olde Primitive Woodland Santa and his Reindeer for the Holidays. This olde guy is really dressed up for the big day! These two are the perfect display for your Christmas decor as a centerpiece, on a halltree, bureau or standing on a shelf! Santa measures 17" tall and 8" wide and his Reindeer measures 12" tall and 7" wide.

I created these pieces in the primitive fashion to give them that time-worn look. Santa's body is sewn from muslin, stuffed tightly with wired poseable arms and hands, and weighted at the bottom, then aged with a coffee-vanilla mixture and baked. For his facial features, I have given him a pinch-stitched nose and I have painted his mouth barn red and painted and drawn with artist pencils his smiling eyes in brown umber, baby blue, and black pupils, blushed his cheeks, and sealed with a finishing spray.

Santa's Night Cap and Coat are sewn from soft creamy flannel and trimmed with strips of curly furry fleece. These have been stained and baked with my coffee-vanilla-cinnamon solution to age them for the grubby look. Rusty bells are used as buttons down the front trim and a larger rusty bell hangs from the tip of his night cap. Purebred Sylvia Sheeps Wool is needle felted in place for his fluffy beard and moustache.His gloves have been paint-washed in black, baked, and sanded. He holds an old fashioned sisal bottle brush Christmas tree that I have rubbed with faux snow and sprinkled with fine Glass Glitter. In his other hand he holds the reins to his favorite Reindeer made from natural linen jute thread.
The Reindeer's body is sewn from muslin, stuffed tightly,stained with the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon mixture, baked and dry brushed along his belly and nose with antique white paint. Pieces of the crusty grubby coating are brushed off to resemble his markings. Tiny black beads are sewn on for his eyes. His legs are cut from tree branches. His bridle around his chest is cut from hunter green plush felt with tiny rusty bells added. His reins that are tied around his head and looped for Santa to hold. Dark brown Ram's wool is needle felted in place for his tail. Wooden Grapevine twigs are used for his antlers.

I have given them a Prim Tag that has been stained in the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon mixture and topped with a nostalgic greeting card image showing Santa dressed in a cream coat and hat bordered with golden Glass Glitter that says... "A Merry Christmas". This piece has been lovingly hand-made by me from a pattern created by Hidden In The Attic.

LARGE PRIMITIVE SNOWLADY ART DOLL "Frostina"

Here we have a large Primitive SnowLady Folk Art Doll for the upcoming Holidays that I have fondly named "Frostina". She is just the perfect display for your Christmas and Winter Wonderland Decor as a wall hanging anywhere in your home. This piece measures 23" tall and 11" wide and 7" deep.

created this piece in the primitive fashion. Her body is sewn from muslin with a pieced, rounded head, stuffed with fiberfill, and I have given her those wonderful uplifted eyelids that are hand-stitched onto her face. She has wired poseable arms and I have painted on her black shoes. I have painted her entire body in antique white followed by sanding to give her a soft leathery feel. Her facial features were both painted with acrylics and shaded with artist pencils. Her separate carrot nose is stuffed, painted, sanded and sewn to her head. Her blushed cheeks are dry brushed with paint.

Frostina's dress is sewn from a golden mottled calico printed with blue and red snowflakes. A coordinating navy and gold star print was used for the Peter Pan collar, the sash, and the under skirt which are top-stitched with matching gold thread. A snowflake shank button is sewn to the center of her collar and I have sewn her a matching navy star print bow for her head.

She is holding her own purse that is sewn from muslin, painted, sanded and embellished with a snowman face. Navy blue buttons are stitched on for the eyes, her black coal smile is painted on for the mouth and dark orange paint is used for the carrot nose. Shading was done with a black artist pencil and navy floss was prim stitched along the upper edge. A floral bouquet of pine sprigs, pip berry sprays and pinecone was placed in the purse and hung on her arm.

This whimsical piece would be the perfect display for your Christmas fireplace hearth as a wall hanging or sitting in a rocking chair under the tree. He measures 18" tall and 9" wide and 6" deep.I have created this piece in the primitive fashion to give it that time-worn look. Santa's body is sewn from muslin, stuffed, and then stained with a coffee-vanilla solution and baked. For his facial features, I have pinch-stitched his nose, painted his smiling eyes, shading with artist pencils, and his rosey cheeks are blushed. Creamy sheeps wool curls are needle-felted in place for his beard, hair and brows. His gloves and boots were paint-washed in black, then sanded and natural linen jute thread was used to lace up his boots.Santa's coat, pants, and night cap are sewn from a soft red and black checkerboard flannel. Strips of woolen felt were dipped in the aging solution, fluffed in the dryer, and blanket stitched with ecru floss for the trim embellishing his coat, hat and pants. Black shiney buttons adorn the front of the coat trim and a big rusty bell is tied to the tip of the hat with linen jute thread.

The Christmas Stocking that Santa is holding, is sewn from soft tan flannel with red and tan ticking cut to form the decorative cuff and prim-stitched with red floss. A rusty safety pin holding three rusty jingle bells is pinned to the cuff. Inside the stocking are three toys: A snowman sewn from muslin, painted antique white, sanded, and coated with a coffee-vanilla-cinnamon aging solution. This facial features are embroidered and he wears a little cap made from a black knit sock and a scarf cut from red check gingham. The Candy Cane is sewn from muslin, painted red and white and coated with the aging solution and baked. The Hobby Horse is sewn from muslin, painted brown and coated with the aging solution. His nose is embroidered and his eyes are tiny black beads. Curls of brown sheeps wool is needlefelted in place for his mane. Linen jute thread is knotted around his neck for his reigns and he is supported by a wooden dowel just like the traditional Toy Hobby Horse.

I have given them a Prim Tag that has been stained in the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon mixture, and topped with an image of a vintage greeting card that shows Santa's head peeking through holly ivy and berries that says "Christmas Greetings". This piece has been lovingly hand-made by me from of a pattern designed by Dumplin Raggamuffin.

This piece would be the perfect display for your Christmas fireplace hearth as a wall hanging or sitting in a rocking chair under the tree. He measures 22" tall and 9" wide and 5" deep.I have created this piece in the primitive fashion to give it that time-worn look. Santa's body is sewn from muslin, stuffed and then stained with a coffee-vanilla solution and baked. For his facial features, I have pinch-stitched his nose and hand-painted his eyes with blue, black and white acrylics with shading in brown artist pencils, and his rosey cheeks are blushed. Creamy sheeps wool curls are needle-felted in place for his beard and hair. His gloves and boots were paint-washed in black, then sanded and natural linen jute thread was used to lace up his pointy boots. I have placed a wired wreath of pine garland and red pip berry on top of his head.Santa's coat is sewn from a soft burgundy flannel and his pants were sewn from a coordinating homespun with burgundy, tan and brown stripes. Strips of ivory chenille were dipped in the aging solution, fluffed in the dryer, and used for the trim embellishing his coat and pants.
Three front closure placquets for the coat are made with layered strips of black wool felt topped with torn strips of the burgundy homespun and adorned with two rusty bells on each side.

The Reindeer Hobby Horse is sewn from muslin, needled sculpted, and painted bambi brown. After sanding, it was aged with a coffee-vanilla-cinnamon solution and baked again. Tiny black beads are sewn on for his eyes, and black embroidery floss was satin stitched for his nose and mouth. Grapevine twigs were used for his antlers and a rope of ming pine garland is wrapped around his neck. His harness is made from burgundy felt strips adorned with tiny rusty bells and he is placed on a stained wooden dowel like a traditional toy hobby horse.

I have given them a Prim Tag that has been stained in the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon mixture, and topped with an image of a vintage greeting card showing Santa's Head surrounded by holly and berries that says "Loving Christmas Wishes". It is attached to Santa's sleeve with a rusty safety pin.This piece has been lovingly hand-made by me from of a pattern designed by R&K Kreations.

His body is sewn from muslin, stuffed tightly with wired, poseable arms and hands, and placed on an olde antique wooden beehive bobbin, then aged with a coffee-vanilla mixture and baked. For his facial features, I have given him a pinch-stitched nose and brows and I have painted his mouth barn red, painted and drawn with artist pencils his eyes in brown umber, blue, and navy with black pupils, blushed his cheeks, and sealed with a finishing spray. Santa's Night Cap and Coat are sewn from an olde antique cutter quilt in reds,burgundy and hunter green patches and trimmed with strips of curly furry fleece. Rusty bells are used as buttons down the front trim and a larger rusty bell hangs from the tip of his night cap. He holds a magic rusty olde skeleton key dangling from his key ring that I have formed from twisted rusty metal wire. He is just the perfect display for your Christmas and Winter Wonderland Decor on a halltree, bureau or even standing on a shelf! This piece measures 23" tall and 11" wide.

I created this piece in the primitive fashion to give it that time-worn look. His body is sewn from muslin with a pieced, rounded head, stuffed with fiberfill and placed on an olde antique wooden bobbin, then aged with a coffee-vanilla staining mixture. I have cut his star shaped eyes from Warm & Natural batting and hand-stitched/appliqued them to his face with a black french knot center and blushed his cheeks. I have embroidery stitched his querky mouth and his eye lashes with black floss and added a rusty olde square head nail for his nose.

Snow Dude's Night Cap and Coat are cut and sewn from a soft, ivory flannel that I have trimmed with strips of a creamy sherpa. His knit gloves are sewn from an old sweater and sewn to his body. The entire ensemble has been aged and baked with my coffee-vanilla solution to give that grubby look. I have stitched cream floss in an overlapping zig zag pattern and rusty bells are used as buttons down the front sherpa trim. A large rusty bell is tied with natural jute thread at the tip of his curled night cap.

He is holding his own Christmas tree that I have created from a long cinnamon stick wrapped with pine garland for the tree branches.

Santa's body is sewn from muslin, stuffed loosely with a weighted bottom and then stained with a coffee-vanilla solution and baked. For his facial features, I have pinch-stitched his nose and brows, painted his beady eyes and his rosey cheeks are blushed. Creamy sheeps wool curls are needle-felted in place for his beard. His gloves and boots were paint-washed in black, then sanded and natural linen jute thread was used to lace up his pointy boots.Santa's coat is sewn from a soft burgundy flannel and his pants are sewn from a coordinating striped homespun in burgundy,cream and brown. Rudolf is sewn from brown plush felt with black beads for his eyes, strands of black crochet thread for his tuft of hair and a black felt nose. I have used tree branches for his four legs positioned him sitting in Santa's lap. His collar is made from rusty bells strung onto rusty wire. Santa holds Rudolf on his lap along with two small stockings made from the burgundy flannel and homespun stripe.

I have given them a Prim Tag that has been stained in the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon mixture, stamped it with brown jingle bells, and prim-printed with the words "Quality Time". PRIM GRUNGY CHRISTMAS TREE GLITTERED ICICLES

Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my new Prim Christmas Offerings. Here we have a set of six Primitive Grungy Glass Glittered Icicle Ornies perfect for decorating your Prim Christmas Tree. Each icicle measures approximately 6 to 7" long.

I created these ornies in the primitive grungy fashion to give them that time-worn look. All were made from wrapping black wire with strips of torn muslin that I have stained with a coffee-vanillla aging solution. They were then rolled in cinnamon, painted with modge podge clear glue and sprinkled with clear German Glass Glitter. The black wire is bent into a hanger for decorating the limbs of your Christmas tree.

I have given this set a grungy Prim Tag that I have soaked in the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon stain, baked and adhered a nostalgic vintage greeting card image of two little vintage girls in their nightgowns holding their vintage toys and standing in front of a candle lit Christmas Tree that says "A Merry Christmas To You". I have bordered the image with clear German Glass Glitter for a bit of sparkle.

He carries a rusty tin snowflake secured to his hand with rusty wire.
His snow suite is sewn from a navy and gold block print with light blue stars and gathers around his cinnamon legs. Two buttons embellish the front that are clear lucite but appear to be sprinkled with white snow. This piece would be the perfect display for your Christmas fireplace hearth or sitting on a bench in your entry way or in a chair under the tree. He measures 25" tall and 11" wide and 5" deep.I have created this piece in the primitive fashion to give it that time-worn look. His multi-sectional round-head body is sewn from muslin, stuffed tightly with a weighted bottom, wired poseable arms, and then stained with a coffee-vanilla solution and baked. For his facial features, I have pinch- stitched his nose and brows, and I have used both paints and prisma artist pencils for his eyes in blue, navy, black and white. Brown umber pencil was used for shading and his rosey cheeks are blushed.

His beard is made from coffee-vanilla dyed muslin that I have torn into strips, curled and sewn to his face. His gloves and boots were paint-washed in black, baked, stained with a coffee-vanilla-cinnamon solution, baked again and dusted with more cinnamon. Natural linen jute thread was used to lace up his boots.Santa's coat and hat are sewn from a real wool camping blanket. Strips of Chenille were dipped in the aging solution and used for the fur trim around his hat, coat front and hem and sleeve cuffs. Rusty jingle bells strung onto rusty safety pins embellish the trim down the front of his coat. A very large rusty jingle bell dangles from the tip of this hat nestled amongst more curly strips of muslin. Santa is carrying a vintage-style bottle brush tree sprinkled with snow that is wired to his arm and a rusty tin lantern to show his way through the woods.
I have given him a Prim Tag that has been stained in the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon mixture and topped with a nostalgic vintage greeting card image showing a vintage Santa carrying his pack and gifts surrounded with pine sprigs that says "All Xmas Joys Be Thine". "OLDE SAINT NICK"

PRIM NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS STORY BOOK DISPLAY

Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my new Christmas Offerings. Here we have a Primitive Grubbied "Night Before Christmas" Book. This piece would be the perfect display for your Christmas fireplace hearth, on a bureau or table by the tree measuring 22" tall and 17" wide.

I have created this piece in the primitive fashion to give it that time-worn look. The hard cover of the book is sewn from muslin, stiffened and painted barn red, baked, sanded, washed with a coffee-vanilla-cinnamon aging solution and baked again. Cardboard was inserted for stability and stitched inside. Pages of grubby stained and stiffened muslin were hand-stitched into the book cover. The top pages were printed out onto parchment colored paper, stained, and baked. I carefully burned the edges with a flame and sealed them onto the muslin. The left page tells the story in Olde English script font and the photo on the right shows Santa delivering a doll to two little girls.Around the edges of the pages I have inserted pine sprigs, berries and spanish moss. Tiny rusty jingle bells were pinned to the pages with rusty safety pins around the edges. Stained cheesecloth was used for the book mark down the center of the pages.

PRIMITIVE CHRISTMAS YOYO FLORAL ARRANGEMENT

Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my new Christmas Offerings. Here we have a Primitive Folk Art Grapevine Watering Can with Christmas Fabric Yoyo Florals. This piece would display nicely as a centerpiece, shelf sitter, or placed on a bureau, table or halltree. It measures approximately 15" tall and 13"wide and 6" deep. This would also make a wonderful house-warming gift that is everlasting and never withers.I have created this floral piece in the primitive fashion and each flower is hand-stitched into a nostalgic "yoyo" fabric circle, reminiscent of the olde fashioned yoyo quilts. Each flower is made from a different, but coordinating Christmas print fabric in rich burgundy, cream, and hunter green designs. I have sewn a large burgundy button with green floss at the center of each flower. The fabric leaves are sewn from a hunter green cotton fabric layered with interfacing and wire is inserted to make them poseable. The wire stems are wrapped in floral tape and then anchored into floral foam covered with green spanish moss.

The ten yoyo flowers are arranged in a natural grapevine twig watering can wrapped with a coordinating solid burgundy fabric bow that is torn and tied around the base and into a big bow in the front, embellished with a large green vintage-style lucite button.

This piece has been lovingly made by me as my own concept and design and no pattern was used.

PRIMITIVE VINTAGE LINENS CHRISTMAS ANGEL

Welcome Prim Friends and thank you for stopping by to visit my New Christmas Offerings. This is my Primitive-style Vintage Keepsake Embroidered Linen Christmas Angel. She is completely designed and handmade by me with very special attention to detail and design. She measures 20" long and 10" wide.For that extra special touch, I have used a vintage Christmas tea towel for her gown. This one-of-a kind embroidered design features a soft white linen with an very detailed Santa and his Sleigh in traditional Christmas colors. The design features Santa riding in his sleigh with his backpack of toys. I have carefully pieced the tea towel to form a full length gathered gown with a long puffed sleeve bodice. The sleeves and neck are gathered with red pearl cording. Three red lucite buttons embellish the center front of the bodice. I have added extra wide, white, scalloped vintage lace to the bottom top-stitched with a tiny vintage red sateen picot loop edging. This adds to the vintage style so loved long ago.Her body is sewn from tea-dyed muslin and her cheeks are blushed. Her primitive eyes are black dip-dot paint, and the sparkle on her cheeks is antique white paint. I have drawn her eyelashes and brows with a fine tipped black pigma pen. Her hair features the finest loopy mohair white yarn gathered into loops and tied in the center. Her halo is made of twisted gold ming wire for a dainty look. Her stiffened quilted wings feature the remnant of an antique, hand-stitched cutter quilt in red and hunter green alternating with red and green plaids chosen to match the design on her dress. She hangs on the wall by way of a loop at the back of her head and she is sittable or can be used as a tuck. She could also be used as a tree topper.I have given her a prim tag that I have aged in a coffee-cinnamon-vanilla solution and baked in the oven. I have carefully burnt the edges with a flame and used a brown pigma ink to stamp the words "Peace on Earth" along with a spray of holly draped over a bell.She will be perfect for your display of collectible angels, or displayed amongst your Christmas decor in your Primitive, Shabby Cottage, Victorian or Country home. She would also be proud to be placed as a Guardian Angel in your baby's nursery or little child's room.
