PRIMITIVE FOLK ART FALL HARVEST PUMPKIN ART DOLL "Punkin Pye"

Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my new Fall Offerings. Here we have a Primitive Folk Art Pumpkin Doll that I have fondly named "Punkin' Pye". This piece would display nicely as a centerpiece, shelf sitter, or tucked into a rocking chair with your Autumn Decor. She measures 17" tall and 9" wide and her kitty measures 6" x 7".
I created this piece in the primitive grungy fashion to give it that time-worn look. Punkin's body is sewn from muslin, weighted and stuffed with fiberfill. She was paint-washed in pumpkin orange, baked, aged in a coffee-vanilla-cinnamon stain, baked again and sanded. Her facial features are both hand-painted and hand-stitched with artist pencils shading, then sealed. I have sewn her top knot stem from muslin, paint-washed it leaf green, stained it, wired and curled it, then stitched it to the top of her head. Stained cheesecloth forms her hair bow that I have tied around the stem. Her arms and hands are wired and poseable. Her pointed stockings are painted green and cream stripes, sanded and stained with a coffee-vanilla-cinnamon mixture.
Punkin's dress was sewn from quilt-shop quality 1930's reproduction moss green floral print for the bodice and a rusty orange stripe for the skirt. The puffed sleeves are gathered with rusty orange pearl cording. Her apron is torn from a coordinating brown and gold geometric print tossed with pumpkins, gathered and adorned with brown buttons across the top. Her matching bloomers are sewn from the olive green floral print.

She carries a little kitty that I have sewn from muslin, paint-washed in black, sanded and stained in the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon solution, sanded again, and sprinkled with dry cinnamon. I have used tiny mottled cream buttons for the eyes and stained cheese cloth for the collar.

I have given her a Prim Hang Tag that has been stained in the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon mixture and prim printed "Punkin' Pye" in black, then I have carefully burnt the edges with a flame and fastened it to her sleeve with a rusty safety pin.

This piece has been lovingly made by me from a pattern designed by Sweet Meadows Farm.

PRIMITIVE FOLK ART "Ma & Pa" ART DOLLS SET

Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my newest Hand Crafted Offerings. Here we have a Primitive set of Art Dolls which includes a Folk Art, Senior Citizen, Mr. and Mrs. that I have fondly named "Ma and Pa". Pa measures 24" tall and 9" wide and Ma measures 19" tall and 9" wide. Wouldn't they be perfect to display in a wooden rocking chair, sofa, doll bench or sitting on your bed or bedroom shelf!
I created this set in the primitive fashion to give them that time-worn look. Both doll bodies are sewn from muslin, stuffed with fiberfill with a weighted bottom and needle-sculpted hands. I have pinch-stitched their noses and embroidered their eyes and mouth onto their face. I used black beads for their beady little eyes. I then aged them with a grungy, coffee-vanilla-cinnamon stain and baked them in the sun. Their snow white hair is needle-felted in place and they both have wire framed glasses. Their expressions are "priceless"....what a pair!
Pa's clothing features a navy and grey plaid flannel shirt complete with cuffs, a collar, a pocket and buttons up the front. His old fashioned grey flannel hat features ear flaps and he sports a red plaid bow tie. His pants are sewn from denim with a high-waisted pleated front and I have aged his clothing in my coffee-vanilla stain. His shoes are paint-washed black and sanded and laced with black pearl cording.
Ma's dress is sewn from a dusty blue and cream 1930's reproduction floral print. It is gathered at the waist and embellished with four Mother of Pearl vintage buttons down the front bodice. Under her dress she wears bloomers sewn from coffee-vanilla stained muslin trimmed with off-white vintage lace edging. Her shoes are paint-washed antique white, sanded and laced with ecru pearl cording.I have given her a matching purse sewn from muslin and painted antique white and sanded to resemble soft leather. It is adorned with a vintage button for the clasp. Braided ecru pearl cording forms the handle of the purse.
I have given these two a Prim Tag dipped in the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon mixture, baked and sprinkled with dry cinnamon. I have carefully burnt the edges with a flame and attached it with a rusty safety pin.
This set was lovingly made by me using a pattern designed by Sweet Meadows Farm.

PRIMITIVE THANKSGIVING PUMPKIN PIE & PILGRIM CROWS

Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my new Fall Offerings. Here we have a grungy primitive Harvest Pumpkin with two visting Pilgrim Crows as a gathering for a centerpiece or shelf sitter, just perfect for your Fall/Autumn display. This piece measures 8" tall, 18" wide and 11" deep. What a great addition to your Thanksgiving Holiday table! And they smell heavenly!
I created this piece in the primitive fashion to give it that time-worn look. All pieces are sewn from muslin and stuffed with fiberfill and needle sculpted with floss. I have aged the pumpkin with a paint-wash in burnt orange and brushed on a mixture of cinnamon, coffee and vanilla followed by a dusting with dry cinnamon giving it a wonderful scented auroma of fresh baked pumpkin pie. A branch from a tree is used for the stem surrounded by two painted leaves and sprigs of Sweet Annie at the base. The pie rests in a brown tin pie plate surrounded by spanish moss around the edges.
After needled-sculpting their noses, wings and tail, I paint-washed Mr. & Mrs. Pilgrim Crow in black, sanded and then stained them with the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon aging mixture for that grungy dirty prim style. Tiny black shiny beads are sewn on for their eyes. Mrs. Crow's pilgrim bonnet is made from coffee-stained ognasburg and ties under her chin with stained cheese cloth strips. Mr. Crow's top hat is paint-washed in black, aged, and dusted with cinnnamon and a stained cheesecloth band and he sports a matching stained cheese cloth scarf. Both crows have antique rusty square head nails as their legs and feet which strategically rest on the pie for pecking into the pie. All three pieces of this gathering are separate for easy storage.
I have stained a Prim Tag in the coffee-vanilla mixture and burned the edges with a flame that reads..."Give Ye Thanks", This piece has been lovingly made by me from a pattern created by Linette of Needful Primitives.

This piece would display nicely as a centerpiece, shelf sitter, or tucked into a rocking chair with your Autumn Decor. She measures 22" tall and 9" wide.
I created this piece in the primitive grungy fashion to give it that time-worn look. Penelope's round head body is sewn from muslin, weighted and stuffed with fiberfill. I have sewn her top knot stem from muslin, paint-washed it leaf green, stain it, wired and curled it, then stitched it to the top of her head. I have painted and stained wooden buttons terra cotta to match the pumpkins in her dress.

She carries a white pumpkin that I have sewn from muslin and sectioned off with floss. It has been paint-washed antique white, baked, sanded, and stained with coffee-vanilla-cinnamon solution, baked again, then sprinkled with dry cinnamon. I have used a twig for the stem and green floral moss nestled with sprigs of fragrant Sweet Annie preserved floral.

I have given her a Prim Tag that has been stained in the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon mixture and topped with a nostalgic vintage greeting card image of three little vintage children gathering pumpkins that says "Thanksgiving Day". Lots of sisal was used for his hair that I have stitched to his head.

His facial features are both hand-painted and hand-stitched with floss with artist pencil shading. His nose is made from osnasburg that I have painted, sanded, stuffed and prim-stitched onto his face.
